Sharon Fagan McDermott

Sharon Fagan McDermott is an accomplished author and educator, currently serving as an author at the University of Michigan Press, with a forthcoming work titled "Millions of Suns" set for November 2023. Since September 2011, McDermott has been a dedicated Upper School Literature Teacher at Winchester Thurston School, receiving the Jane L. Scarborough Award for Teaching Excellence in 2016. Prior experience includes a Visiting Lectureship at the University of Pittsburgh from 2001 to 2010, where McDermott was honored with the Tina and David Bellet Award for Teaching Excellence in 2005, along with a role as an Adjunct Lecturer of Poetry at Carnegie Mellon University from 1999 to 2000. McDermott holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Poetry from the University of Pittsburgh.
