Sherry Amaya

Sherry Amaya is a Computer Science Teacher at Winchester Thurston School since August 2023, with extensive experience in mathematics education spanning over a decade. Additionally, Sherry provides math tutoring services to secondary and post-secondary students, covering subjects such as Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics since January 2005. Previous positions include Academic Director and Math Tutor at Pittsburgh Prep, High School Mathematics Teacher at Environmental Charter School, and Mathematics Teacher at Shady Side Academy and North Point High School, teaching various mathematics courses and AP Computer Science Principles. Sherry also served as the Mathematics Tutoring Center Graduate Student Coordinator at Slippery Rock University and has conducted research at the University of Pittsburgh. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from Bloomsburg University, a Master of Education in Secondary Math Education from Slippery Rock University, and a Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Millersville University.
