Anthony Strong, CPA, CGMA, CHFP

Anthony Strong, CPA, CGMA, CHFP has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Anthony is currently the Senior Vice President of Finance & Corporate Controller at Wind River Environmental, a leading provider of non-hazardous liquid waste solutions. In this role, they oversee financial operations and ensures accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP.

Prior to their current position, Anthony served as the Vice President of Finance & Corporate Controller at Wind River Environmental, responsible for managing financial plans, procedures, and policies of the organization. Anthony also led the accounting, FP&A, and treasury operations, and played a crucial role in integrating acquisitions and supporting multiple system implementations.

Before joining Wind River Environmental, Anthony worked at Anthem, where they held the position of Vice President of Finance/Actuary and CFO for the Pharmacy Solutions Division. Anthony led the establishment of the financial infrastructure for IngenioRx, one of the largest Pharmacy Benefit Managers in the country, with full P&L responsibility and a focus on pricing and product level analysis.

Prior to their tenure at Anthem, Anthony worked at CVS Health in various leadership roles. Anthony served as the CFO & Treasurer for the Insurance and Prescription Drug Companies, overseeing the financial activities during a period of significant growth. Anthony also held the role of Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for the Government Services Division and Senior Director of Accounting & External Reporting for the Pharmacy Services Segment.

At Deloitte, Anthony gained valuable experience as a Senior Manager in the Audit and Assurance Services. Anthony managed client relationships and led engagements for a large portfolio of clients, including SEC clients with substantial revenues.

Anthony started their career at Sysco as an Assistant Controller in Corporate Accounting and in Shaw's Supermarkets as a Financial Analyst in Corporate Accounting.

Throughout their career, Anthony has demonstrated strong financial expertise and leadership skills, contributing to the growth and success of the organizations they have worked for.

Anthony Strong, CPA, CGMA, CHFP attended Bryant University in Smithfield, RI, where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Accounting. Prior to attending Bryant University, they completed their high school education at Medfield High School in Medfield, MA.

In addition to their formal education, Anthony has obtained various certifications in different fields. Anthony is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed by the Board of Public Accountancy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which they achieved in October 2001. Anthony also holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation conferred by the AICPA since June 2014.

Anthony has a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) certification from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), earned in May 2015. Furthermore, they have undergone training and received the Six Sigma Lean Professional Certification from the Management and Strategy Institute in November 2014.

Anthony is also involved in soccer coaching and holds a Grassroots License and F License from the U.S. Soccer Federation, obtained in November 2019 and August 2016 respectively. These additional certifications highlight their commitment to professional development and their diverse skill set beyond the field of accounting.
