Wind River Visitors Council
Owen Sweeney, IOM, serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Lander Chamber of Commerce, where efforts focus on enhancing business opportunities in the community. Since January 2023, Sweeney has also held the position of Executive Director at the Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Sweeney is a Co-Owner of Peak Health Supplements, a top U.S. company, and serves as President of the Wind River Visitors Council, promoting tourism in Fremont County. Previous roles include Vice President and Board Member at Wyoming Catholic College, Senior Manager of Federal & State Government Relations at Symantec, and various positions at the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Stateside Associates, and Media Research Center. Sweeney's educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree from Thomas Aquinas College and a Graduate Fellowship from California State University-Sacramento.

Wind River Visitors Council
The Wind River Visitors Council is a Lodging Tax Board responsible for promoting the travel and tourism industry in Fremont County through expenditures of the Lodging Tax. The Council was formed by a Joint Powers Agreement in 1989 between the Fremont County Commissioners, the cities of Lander, Riverton, Dubois and the towns of Shoshoni and Hudson. Board members represent our communities and the county and are appointed by local City Councils and the Fremont County Commissioners.
