Kathleen B. Kelliher

Kathleen Kelliher is an Associate, resident in the New York office.

She focuses her practice primarily on litigation involving claims under the Loft Law in Supreme and Civil Courts, and before the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (“OATH”) and the Loft Board.

Ms. Kelliher advises building owners on Loft Law claims, legalization of Interim Multiple Dwellings, compliance with the Loft Law, illegal subletting and rent profiteering, buyout negotiations, and zoning and land use.

She has experience in all stages of the litigation process, including drafting pleadings and motions, resolving discovery issues, arguing motions, and assisting with depositions and second chairing trials in Supreme Court, Civil Court, and OATH.

Prior to Windels Marx, she practiced with a boutique real estate litigation firm in New York.

While earning her J.D., Ms. Kelliher was the publication editor of Rutgers Law Journal and was awarded a 2014 Mary Philbrook Student Public Interest Award and the Dean’s Pro Bono Publico Award. Ms. Kelliher also graduated with an award for domestic violence work and was the student director of the Domestic Violence Project. She interned for a U.S. Bankruptcy judge and a U.S. Magistrate judge
