Robert J. Luddy

Robert J. Luddy has tried numerous cases before juries in state and federal courts and arbitrated matters before international, securities industry, and private arbitration tribunals. He has represented clients from a wide array of industries over the course of his career, including matters involving sophisticated real estate disputes, insurance and complex claims cases, as well as the tobacco industry and Native American concerns.

In the latter context, Mr. Luddy has represented parties suing 35 state Attorneys General for antitrust and constitutional claims arising out of the 1998 Master Settlement Agreement between 46 states and the major tobacco companies; arbitrated against the United States a NAFTA dispute concerning tobacco products manufactured in Canada; and represented Native American tobacco manufacturers and distributors in numerous civil, criminal and regulatory disputes across the United States, many of which involve complicated questions sovereignty and related Indian law issues.

Mr. Luddy is the Managing Partner of Windels Marx and a member of the Executive Committee. He is a member of the American Bar Association.
