David Schemitsch

David Schemitsch started their work experience in 2009 as a Revenue Processing Specialist at the International Rescue Committee. David then transitioned to become a Research Analyst at the same organization from September 2011 to December 2013.

In 2013, David joined Columbia University in the City of New York as a Research Analyst and worked in this role until March 2017. David then became an Associate Director, Data Science at Columbia University and held this position until July 2019. From July 2019 to October 2021, they worked as a Data Science Engineer at the university. Finally, from October 2021 to February 2022, they were a Lead Data Scientist before leaving the university.

David's most recent work experience is at Windfall, where they started in March 2022 as a Senior Data Scientist. Currently, they hold the position of Staff Data Scientist.

David Schemitsch earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics, Anthropology, and Political Economy from New York University in the years 2005 to 2009. David then pursued a Graduate Certificate in Applied Intelligence from Mercyhurst University, attending from 2011 to 2012. Following that, they enrolled in the School of Continuing Education at Columbia University from 2014 to 2017, although the field of study for this program is not specified. Most recently, David completed their Master of Science degree in Data Science at Columbia Engineering from 2017 to 2021. In addition to their formal education, they obtained various certifications including Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Microsoft Power BI from edX in November 2019, Exploratory Data Analysis from Coursera in March 2015, Getting and Cleaning Data from Coursera in February 2015, The Data Scientist's Toolbox from Coursera in December 2014, and R Programming from Coursera in July 2014.
