Deb Herndon is a dedicated educational professional with extensive experience in special education. Currently serving as a Special Education Academic Coach at Winfield USD 465 since August 2011, Deb mentors Special Education teachers in providing services to students from Pre-K through 12th grade. In addition, Deb has been an Adjunct Instructor for the Special Education Master's Program at Southwestern College since January 2003, teaching courses such as Instructional Strategies for Students with Learning Difficulties and Classroom Management. Previously, Deb spent over three decades as a Special Education Teacher at IXL Elementary School, where responsibilities included teaching in an interrelated classroom for grades K-5. Deb holds a Master of Arts in Special Education and Teaching from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Teaching from Oklahoma Christian University.

Career and technical programs abound in the curriculum as students develop skills for future career application. Winfield Public Schools has demonstrated rapid improvement on the state assessments during the past years. Our comprehensive sports program offers students a variety of team oriented experiences that will serve them well into the future. Winfield Public Schools is home to the 2020 Kansas Teacher of the Year, Tabatha Rosproy.
