Jim Schmalzried

Jim Schmalzried is an experienced engineering professional specializing in manufacturing process engineering and technical project management, currently serving as the Manager of Manufacturing Process Engineering & Global Maintenance at Wing since July 2018. Prior to this role, Jim held positions at X, the moonshot factory, as a Mechanical Engineer and at Google, where contributions were made to Project Wing developing ground support equipment and electromechanical systems for small unmanned aircraft systems. Previous roles also include Director of Engineering at CIIIS, LLC, focusing on energy harvesting technologies, and work as a Senior Project Engineer at Boeing Advanced Unmanned Systems. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, with additional educational experiences at multiple prestigious institutions.
