Dr. April Smith

Dr. April Smith is an accomplished educational leader currently serving as the Assistant Vice President for Community Standards and previously as the Director of Community Standards at Wingate University since March 2020. Prior roles include Graduate Assistant at UNC Charlotte, where Dr. Smith supported transfer students and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for freshman seminars. Prior to UNC Charlotte, Dr. Smith worked as the Coordinator of Residence Life and Community Director at Texas A&M University from July 2008 to July 2015. Dr. Smith holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a Master’s degree in College Student Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Central Arkansas, and a Bachelor of Science in Communication from the University of Central Arkansas.
