Dr. Kalyani Velagapudi has a wealth of experience in the healthcare and technology industries. Dr. Kalyani began their career in 1985 as a Lecturer at the Delhi School of Economics. From 1990 to 1995 they were a Graduate Assistant in the Health Economics Department at Wayne State University. From 1995 to 1998, they worked at Virginia Mason Medical Center as the Manager of the Office of Value Assessment. During this time they were the IT Lead for Cerner Implementation. From 1998 to 2005, they were a Principal Strategy and Delivery Manager at Fujitsu Consulting, where they worked on projects for Cingular/AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless. From 2005 to 2010, they were the Senior Director of Solution Delivery for Microsoft IT/Portfolio Director. Finally, from 2017 to present, they have been the Founder and President of Perimatics, a partnership of Winigent, CoMotion at the University of Washington, and Microsoft for Startups. The goal of Perimatics is to improve perioperative care through use of real-time decision support and predictive analytics.
Dr. Kalyani Velagapudi obtained their Ph.D. in Healthcare Economics with specialization in cost optimization from Wayne State University in 1994. Dr. Kalyani had previously obtained a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics in 1992, before moving mid-way to the Ph.D. program at WSU. In 1995, they obtained a Ph.D. in Health Economics from Wayne State University.
