Robert Kenny is the director of Winrock’s Forestry and Natural Resource Management team. He has been working to improve livelihoods through the sustainable use of forests and natural resources with nonprofit, corporate and government institutions for over 20 years. Before joining Winrock, Robert served as the chief of party for the World Wildlife Fund-led Amazon Indigenous Rights and Resources project. He previously served as the Asia regional forestry advisor for the U.S. Forest Service in Bangkok, led Walmart’s philanthropic work on sustainability and global farmer training programs, and worked on international research and extension projects as a faculty member at Virginia Tech. Earlier in his career, he served as chief of party of the USAID Bolivia Sustainable Forest Management project, as deputy country director at The Nature Conservancy and deputy director of the environment office at USAID, all in his native country, Bolivia.
Robert holds a bachelor’s degree in natural resource economics from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree in forestry from Yale University.
