Maria Yancheva

CTO & Co-Founder at WinterLight Labs

Maria Yancheva's work experience includes co-founding Winterlight Labs, where they serve as the CTO. Winterlight Labs specializes in building technology to detect cognitive impairment from speech samples. Maria has also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Toronto and as a Visiting Research Scholar at Johns Hopkins University. In addition, they have experience as a Software Developer at Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets. Maria has also worked as a Research Assistant in the Computational Linguistics Group and the Software Engineering Group at the Department of Computer Science, University of Toronto.

Maria Yancheva completed their Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science, with Honours, at the University of Toronto from 2008 to 2013, with a focus on Computer and Electrical Engineering. Maria then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science at the University of Toronto from 2014 to 2016.
