Steve Denny has extensive experience in the education sector, particularly in the Winton Woods City School district. Steve began their career in 2001 as an Assistant Principal and later served as Principal within the same district. In 2010, they transitioned into the role of Executive Director of Business Affairs for Winton Woods City Schools, where they were responsible for overseeing various operational and business functions. Additionally, they acted as the project manager for the construction of two new school facilities.

Steve Denny's education history begins in 1989 when they attended Ambassador University. Steve pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and graduated in 1993. After their undergraduate studies, they went on to California State University, Los Angeles, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration. This degree was earned between 1995 and 1998. In 2001, they enrolled in the University of Cincinnati to obtain a Principal Licensure, completing the program within the same year. Additionally, in 2001, they attended Xavier University for an Asst. Superintendent Licensure, which they completed in 2002.
