Samar Shamoon has extensive experience in media and communications, beginning as Bureau Chief for the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) in Geneva from July 1989 to December 1998, serving as the chief correspondent in Switzerland. Following this role, Samar joined the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in July 2016, where responsibilities included Head of News and Media, Head of Media Relations, Head of Media and Events, and ultimately Director of the News and Media Division until May 2019. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) obtained between 1987 and 1988 and a Bachelor of Arts from The American College of Greece completed between 1984 and 1987.
