Wir bauen Zukunft eG
Community-based sustainability research space in nature - where people from various backgrounds come together to create an experimental ground for demand-oriented innovation, social entrepreneurship, sustainable living, learning and building. We understand the future centre as a pioneer project with model character; therefore all planning will be designed tohave an impact at local and international level. To live up to the claim, to be the cell for a sustainable society, the 10 ha grounds will picture the central themes of society in micro-format: self-sustaining energy-, water- and sewage water infrastructure, housing modules, food production, development of new technologies and prototypes in workshops such as the Green Circular Economy FabLab - embedded in a thriving inter-cultural and multi-generational caring community. THE SPACE The former „Zukunftszentrum ZMTW“ (Future Centre - interface of humans, nature, technology and science) is a 10 ha park in northern Germany between Hamburg and Berlin. After financial bankruptcy and three years of absence of maintenance the park has been waiting for new energy and fresh ideas. A 1000 qm seminar house, a factory workshop, an exhibition house, multiple green houses and a huge botanical garden offer the perfect conditions for a space of the future: a meeting place of exchange, communication, experimentation and innovation. THE INITIATORS We are a group of individuals and organisations, eager to explore new ways of living, learning and creating. We combine knowledge from various backgrounds: natural sciences, social entrepreneurship, economics, organizational development, community building, architecture, seminar design and facilitation, gastronomy, marketing and communication, permaculture and sustainable agriculture, carpentry, sustainable and energy-efficient building as well as renewable energy. let's build a regenerative future
