Brian Hajime Ogata has over twenty years of experience in the technology industry, with a focus on wireless communications and RFID technologies. Brian currently serves as a board member for the Wireless Communications Alliance, and previously served as the Chair for the RFID Special Interest Group. Under their leadership, the group tripled its membership in one year.
Prior to their work with the Wireless Communications Alliance, Brian was with Sun Microsystems for six years. There, they held positions of Product Marketing Manager and Product Manager for Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and Standard Edition (J2SE). Brian successfully brought the first release of the Java Architecture for XML Binding (JAXB) product to market, and reignited developer interest in JavaServer Pages (JSP) and Servlets for the J2SE by redefining its market position.
Brian is an adviser to an RFID start-up, and has been a featured speaker before RFID industry groups such as AeE/Stanford Executive Institute; Start-up Epicenter; Silicon Valley Chinese Wireless Association; and Telecom Showcase. Brian has numerous contacts in the RFID industry, including Alien, Intelleflex, Savi, and others.
Brian Hajime Ogata studied communications and theatre arts at San Jose State University, where they earned their MA. Brian also holds a BA in mass media and public address from Loma Linda University.
