William McWhirter

Co–Founder & CTO at Wireless Telematics

William McWhirter is the Chief Technical Officer for Wireless Telematics. William is one of the original founding members of Wireless Telematics and is also the inventor and developer of the LCMS lighting control product. William is responsible for all aspects of product design, development and manufacturing. He also oversees the day to day operations within the Wireless Telematics Engineering and Data Center located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

William received his AS degree in Avionics and Instrumentation from Spartan Collage of Aeronautics (Tulsa) and a BSEE from Oklahoma State University. After graduation he was employed by General Electric Aircraft Engines located in Evendale, Ohio. Then moved onto a position within ARCH Wireless where he designed and implemented both satellite data and terrestrial RF communication infrastructures for their nationwide wireless networks.

William was born in Fridley, Minnesota and moved to the Cincinnati, Ohio area during his grade school years. He is an avid scuba diver and also enjoys riding his off road motorcycles. He and his wife Shawna enjoy traveling to the Caribbean and when at home they spend time trying to tame their golden-doodle Nellie. William is also an active member in the Cincinnati chapter of the IEEE.
