Teemu Laukkarinen has had a diverse range of work experiences in the field of technology.

Teemu started their career in 2006 as a Research Assistant at the Department of Computer Systems at Tampere University of Technology. During this time, they worked on embedded programming for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) and developed supporting software for WSN development.

In 2010, Teemu co-founded WSN Works Holding Oy and served as a Board Member. WSN Works Holding Oy later merged with Wirepas Oy.

In the same year, Teemu also founded Wirepas, where they initially worked as a Founder. Teemu was involved in product development, road mapping, and project planning. Teemu continued to work at Wirepas part-time and when needed until 2012.

From 2010 to 2015, Teemu worked as a Researcher and Teaching Associate at Tampere University of Technology. Teemu conducted research on wireless sensor networks, embedded systems, and distributed systems. Teemu also taught courses on computer architecture, wireless sensor networks, and microprocessors.

In 2019, Teemu joined Bittium as a Senior Engineer. Teemu worked as a software lead and designer for an IoT/remote measurement and diagnostics device. Their responsibilities included designing and validating software, as well as collaborating with the hardware and mechanical teams.

Currently, Teemu Laukkarinen works at Patria as a System Architect. Teemu is involved in research and development of challenging underwater systems, leading a team responsible for system architecture and embedded software development. This role requires collaboration with various disciplines such as electronics, mechanical engineering, physics, acoustics, and signal processing, as well as project management and testing.

Teemu Laukkarinen completed their education in the field of Embedded Systems. From 2004 to 2010, they pursued a Masters degree in Computer Science, specializing in Embedded Systems, at Tampere University of Technology. Following this, they went on to earn a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree in Embedded Systems from the same university from 2011 to 2015.
