Stephan Happel

Stephan Happel has extensive experience in digital journalism and editorial leadership, currently serving as the Stellvertretender Head of Digital and Leiter Online-Desk at WirtschaftsWoche since March 2014, where responsibilities include overseeing online content and team management. Previously, Stephan held positions at Funke Mediengruppe GmbH & Co. KGaA and completed a journalistic traineeship. Early career experiences include working as a student assistant at Stiftung Mercator GmbH and as a freelance contributor for Westfalenpost, along with internships in public relations and academia. Stephan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Germanistik and Geschichte from the Ruhr University Bochum and the University of Duisburg-Essen.
