Faculty - Trumpet, Jazz Institute at Wisconsin Conservatory of Music

Alec Burke is an experienced trumpet educator and performer based in Milwaukee. Currently serving as faculty at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music's Jazz Institute since November 2019, Alec provides instruction to trumpet students of all ages and offers jazz lessons and masterclasses. In addition, Alec is a trumpet substitute with the Wisconsin Philharmonic and collaborates frequently with the Black Cat Ensemble and as a co-founder of the Microcosm Ensemble. Alec also teaches brass at Brass Bell Music Store and previously held teaching positions at Brookfield Academy and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. With a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Science in PreK-12 Instrumental & General Music Education from Ball State University, Alec has contributed significantly to music education and performance in various capacities.

The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music is the largest non-profit community music school in the state.
