John-Ruben Piirainen is an accomplished music educator and director with extensive experience in piano performance, collaboration, and music direction across various institutions. Currently serving as a Piano Teacher and Collaborative Pianist at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and as Music Director at Unitarian Universalist Church West since 2003, John-Ruben's responsibilities include managing music programs, directing diverse musical ensembles, and facilitating opportunities for musical growth. Additionally, John-Ruben has held roles as a pianist with Festival City Symphony and has contributed to numerous opera productions and educational programs at Milwaukee Opera Theatre, Marquette University, and other regional theaters. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Music from Lawrence University and a Master of Music from Bowling Green State University.
