James Kaplanek

James Kaplanek has extensive experience in food safety and regulatory oversight within state government. Currently serving as the Retail Food and Recreational Programs Section Chief at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection since March 2016, Kaplanek leads initiatives to promote public health and safety in retail food and recreational environments. Prior to this role, Kaplanek was the Food Safety and Recreational Licensing Section Chief at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services from June 2001 to March 2016, where responsibilities included managing food safety programs and licensing for recreational facilities.
