Jim Richards

Jim Richards, CISSP, serves as the Chief Information Security Officer at the Wisconsin Department of Justice. Previously, Jim held several key positions in information security, including Security Architect at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation from April 2019 to November 2022, and Incident Response Architect at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from November 2014 to April 2019. Additional roles include Senior Incident Response at the Wisconsin Department of Administration and Information Security Architect at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Earlier in their career, Jim worked as IT Manager Europe at Electronic Theatre Controls and as Internet Security Administrator at Sonic Foundry Media Systems, Inc. Jim’s foundational experience includes network administration and management at Electronic Theatre Controls. Jim's educational background includes studies at Radford University and Wayland Academy.
