The Wisconsin Health Information Organization (WHIO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality, affordability, safety and efficiency of health care in Wisconsin. WHIO’s Datamart is the only statewide, voluntary all-payer claims database in the nation. It is comprised of health care claims data on more than 4.2 million individuals (more than 73 percent of Wisconsin’s population) from 20 statewide insurers. The data represents more than 290 million claims totaling $94 billion in billed charges.
