Hilary Barker, Ph.D., currently serves as the State Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) for the Wisconsin Technical College System, a position held since April 2018, focusing on advancing CTE and developing guided career pathways aligned with high-demand careers. Prior roles include Education Director of Strategy & Improvement, where data analytics informed educational practices within the WTCS. Hilary's academic background includes serving as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, managing an international research project on tree genomics and training a research team, alongside roles as a biocore teaching assistant and science teacher for the PEOPLE Program, which supports first-generation and underrepresented students. Hilary holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Hope College.
