Kayla J Heffernan has a diverse work experience in UX design and leadership roles. Kayla J currently works at WISE Employment as the Head of UX, where they established design and research processes and managed a cross-functional design team. Prior to that, they worked at Harness Projects as a Mentor. Before that, they held various roles at Attend Anywhere, including Head of Product and UX, where they owned the product and roadmap and managed a cross-functional product team. Kayla J also worked as a UX Team Lead, where they conducted research and co-designed with the NHS in the UK.

Kayla's previous experience includes working as a Senior Academic Tutor at the University of Melbourne for different periods of time. Kayla J also worked at Seer as a UX Design Lead, responsible for setting up the practice and managing the mobile app team. At SEEK, they held multiple roles, including Design Lead and Senior User Experience Designer, where they worked on e-commerce solutions, conducted research, and created wireframes and prototypes. Kayla J also worked as a User Experience Designer at SEEK, transitioning websites to new designs and conducting research. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Academic Tutor at the University of Melbourne.

Kayla's early experience includes working as a User Experience Designer at Apparel21, where they designed desktop ERP and POS systems and implemented personas and design workshops.

Kayla J Heffernan's education history begins in 2011, where they obtained a Certificate IV in Business Administration from Origin HR. Kayla J then went on to attend Monash University from 2008 to 2011, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Systems. After completing their undergraduate studies, they joined the University of Melbourne and pursued a Master's Degree in Information Systems from 2012 to 2014. Continuing their academic journey, they remained at the University of Melbourne and enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Computing and Information systems, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
