Arunan Tharmarajah

Arunan Tharmarajah is an experienced professional in the banking and payments sector, currently serving as the Head of European Banking and Payments at Wise since November 2017, where responsibilities include team leadership for the expansion and risk management of UK and European payment products, managing partnerships with global financial institutions, and engaging with Central Banks on payment solutions. Prior to Wise, Arunan held various roles at Barclays from September 2011 to November 2017, culminating as Associate Director in Correspondent Banking, focusing on relationship management and income generation for correspondent banks. Arunan earned a Master’s Degree in Applied Economics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham, complemented by early experience at Barclaycard and Unilever in marketing analytics and supply chain management, respectively.
