Mika Leppälä is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in software development and team leadership. Currently serving as a Staff Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and Engineering Lead at Wise since April 2021, Mika has been instrumental in forming a new Finance onboarding team in London, focusing on the integration of TransferWise products into financial processes. Prior to this, Mika held the position of Software Engineering Team Lead at BBC from June 2017 to February 2021, managing a diverse team of developers and fostering their professional growth. Mika’s career also includes roles as Technical Architect and Lead Developer at Javelin Group (Accenture Strategy), along with previous positions at Logica, TietoEnator, TeliaSonera, and GE Healthcare. Mika holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Helsinki.
