Dr Helen Lockett

Dr. Helen Lockett serves as the Chief Science Advisor and Strategic Policy Advisor at Wise Group since February 2011 and is a member of the National Scientific Advisory Committee at the Cancer Society of New Zealand from May 2025. Additionally, Dr. Lockett is an Honorary Senior Fellow at the University of Otago since June 2019 and previously held the position of Strategic Lead at Te Pou from August 2022 to November 2025. Between April 2015 and March 2021, Dr. Lockett was a Population Health Board Member at Pegasus Health, and served as a Strategic Advisor to the OECD from September 2017 to December 2018, where Dr. Lockett authored the OECD mental health and work Aotearoa NZ report. Prior experience includes directing programs and performance at the Centre for Mental Health from November 2006 to December 2010. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Otago Wellington, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Bradford, and a degree in social and political sciences from the University of Cambridge.
