William O'Brien

William O'Brien is an experienced Architectural Engineer currently employed at Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. since May 2012, focusing on building enclosure projects in the Chicago office. Prior to this role, O'Brien was a Project Engineer in Building Sciences at Architectural Testing Inc., where responsibilities included commissioning, failure investigation, and testing of building envelopes. O'Brien also served as a Research Assistant at The Pennsylvania State University, conducting experimental testing on glass curtain walls, and as a Glazing Fragility Consultant with the Applied Technology Council, where fragility curves for glass systems were developed. Earlier roles included an internship at Pratt & Whitney in Environmental, Health and Safety and as a Reservation Ranger for The Trustees of Reservations. O'Brien holds a Master of Science in Architectural Engineering from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
