Kate O'Shea

Awbury Lower School Principal at WISSAHICKON CHARTER SCHOOL

Kate O’Shea has been an educator for the past 17 years and a supervisor and mentor to teachers for the last ten. She received her Masters in Education from Arcadia University and completed the coursework for her Principal Certification through Arcadia from 2010-2011. In addition to her certification courses, she served as a student teaching supervisor to Arcadia graduate students and as a teaching coach and professional development trainer for Foundations Inc.

Kate has been with Wissahickon Charter School since the beginning, serving as one of its founding teachers. She went on to be the Director of Curriculum, Gifted and Talented Teacher and in 2004 became the Dean of Faculty. After a couple years spent in San Francisco writing a proposal for a Spanish immersion charter school, Kate returned to WCS in 2011 as the Lower School Director and in 2014 became the first Lower School Director at the new Awbury campus.
