Gal Sharir

Gal Sharir is an experienced technology leader currently serving as Head of Backend Engineering and Backend Guild Master for Premium Services at Wix since June 2017. In this role, Gal oversees an R&D group of six teams, focusing on architecture, tech design reviews, mentorship, and fostering community around technical excellence. Prior experience includes engineering team leadership roles at Wix, a software engineering internship at Google, and co-founding and directing the HackIDC student hackathon. Gal's background also includes serving as an intelligence analyst in the Israel Defense Forces and as a Young Emissary with the Jewish Agency for Israel. Gal holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Business Management from Reichman University and participated in the Zell Entrepreneurship Program.
