Salim Afiune Maya

Salim Afiune Maya is a seasoned Principal Engineer with extensive experience in engineering leadership and cloud security. Currently employed at Wiz since September 2025, Salim previously served as an Engineering Leader at Mondoo, where significant contributions included resolving critical customer issues and enhancing development workflows. Prior to that role, Salim was a Principal Engineer at Lacework, spearheading the design of a widely adopted Terraform provider and authoring numerous Terraform modules. Salim's career also includes positions at Chef Software, where architectural transformations and usability improvements were achieved, as well as roles in infrastructure automation at GE Capital and architectural solutions at Banco Santander. Salim holds an Ingeniero degree in programming and operating systems from Universidad Tecnológica de México.
