Diara Newman

Diara Newman is a seasoned professional in the fields of arts, technology, and media, currently serving as the Director of Arts + Technology at the West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology since August 2023. With a background as a Writer/Director at Diara Newman Productions since January 2020, Diara is recognized as a 2022 winner of the American Black Film Festival x Warner Bros. Discovery Writers Initiative. Previous roles include serving as Creative Director at WrightOne Media Group, where management of a producing team for a Civil Rights docuseries was key, and Development Coordinator at Compass College of Film and Media, achieving substantial increases in donor engagement. Diara's experience also encompasses various positions at CBS News, including News Associate and News Intern, where extensive production and research tasks were performed. Additional internships in broadcasting and crisis support further enriched Diara's diverse skill set. Diara holds a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from The George Washington University.
