Wilderness Medical Society
Justin Gardner is a Wilderness Medicine Fellowship Faculty and Emergency Medicine Physician at Carilion Clinic since June 2020, where earlier experience includes serving as a Wilderness Medicine Fellow. Justin is the WMS Resident/Student Education Committee Chair for the Wilderness Medical Society since July 2021 and a Clinical Preceptor at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine since June 2021. Previous roles include being an Expedition Medicine Committee Member for the Wilderness Medicine Society from February 2018 to June 2021, and Clinical Faculty at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine from December 2016 to June 2020. Justin completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital from 2016 to 2020 and obtained a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016, following a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Physiology with minors in Psychology and Anthropology from Purdue University. Early experience includes work as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Purdue University.
