Diane Masciale

VP & General Manager, WLIW at WNET

Diane Masciale is Vice President and General Manager of Long Island’s public media stations WLIW21 and WLIW-FM and Executive Producer of local productions at The WNET Group, parent company of WLIW21 and THIRTEEN, and operator of the network NJ PBS. The Long Island native is responsible for day-to-day operations of WLIW21 and WLIW-FM. As Executive Producer, she also oversees local productions for all three stations including the Emmy Award-winning, Treasures of New York, an original series showcasing New York’s cultural icons and MetroFocus, a daily television and multi-platform news magazine. Additionally, Masciale manages the operation of Wavelength, an innovative digital content sharing platform for PBS member stations, which allows stations to share local content and expand their programming and better serve their communities.

Masciale is also executive in charge of ALL ARTS, a multimedia platform devoted to engaging with numerous artistic genres. She is also an executive in charge of Amanpour and Company, the national nightly public affairs series featuring CNN’s Christiane Amanpour with other interviews from prominent journalists Walter Isaacson, Michel Martin, and Hari Sreenivasan.

Masciale is a veteran news executive having last served as Executive Editor of ABC’s Good Morning America and Executive Producer in the ABC Long Form Unit. Previously, she was Acting Executive Producer and Senior Broadcast Producer at NBC’s Today Show as well as Senior Broadcast Producer at Dateline NBC.

A three-time National Emmy Award-winner, Masciale has achieved some of the highest recognition throughout her media career including the Edward R. Murrow Award, American Women in Radio & TV Gracie Award, Clarion Award, National Headliner Award, Sigma Delta Chi Award, Cine Gold Eagle, Cindy Awards, National Press Club Award, National Association of Consumer Advocates Award, Halo Award for Best Cause Marketing, Folio Awards, Long Island Press Club Awards and New York State Broadcaster Awards. She has been named one of Long Island Business News Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business in 2016 and is on the roster of Outstanding Young Women in America. Masciale also has completed the rigorous Six Sigma Certification business leadership program.

Masciale is a graduate of the Journalism School at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
