Military Electronic Works began its operations in 1952. Initially it was a military unit and served as a modernization workshop for the radiolocation equipment. Military Electronic Works company was established on October 8, 1964 by Ordinance of the Minister of National Defence, No 62/MON. Military Electronic Works was transformed into a joint stock company owned by the State Treasury on January 1, 2008. The Ministry of National Defence supervised the company on behalf of the State Treasury. In 2014, following the Decision of the Minister of Treasury of the Republic of Poland, Military Electronic Works JSC became part of the Polish Armaments Group. During the period of almost 65 years WZE S.A. executed assignments for the needs of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland mainly in the scope of overhaul, production and modernization of radiolocation, reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and anti-aircraft equipment.
