Sara Jaffe

Vice President, Development at Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts

Sara Jaffe has a diverse work experience spanning across various organizations and roles. Sara began their career as an Assistant in the Enforcement Division at the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1995. Sara then worked as a Programming Intern at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts where they coordinated auditions and contracts for the Millennium Stage series. Sara later joined the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts as a Program Associate and also worked as a Development Manager at the Shakespeare Theatre Company, where they secured support for artistic and community outreach programs.

Sara then held the position of Contractor, Programming at the National Geographic Channel, where they organized and evaluated television programs. Sara also worked at the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) as a Program Associate, screening and evaluating news and public affairs television programs. In 2002, Sara became the Director of Development at Signature Theatre and successfully led a capital campaign for the construction of a new theater complex.

Following their tenure at Signature Theatre, Sara served as Vice President at the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, overseeing operations and managing communication with donors and nonprofit organizations. Sara then joined the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts again, progress from Senior Director of Development to Vice President, Development where they led the institution's philanthropy program. Finally, in 2023, Sara joined The School for Ethics and Global Leadership as a Member of the Board of Trustees. Throughout their career, Sara has demonstrated skills in leadership, fundraising, project management, and partnership development.

Sara Jaffe attended The Hockaday School from 1981 to 1994, but they did not obtain a degree or pursue a specific field of study during their time there. Later, from 1994 to 1998, they attended Trinity College-Hartford, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Theatre and Dance.
