Mi (Timothy) Yan is a Technology Engineer II at Wolfram since February 2019, focused on developing backend APIs and data pipelines using MSSQL, Python, and AWS to enhance process automation and manage large-scale commercial real estate data. Prior to this, Mi served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech from May 2013 to December 2018, where complex quantum simulation data analysis and machine learning were applied to guide experimental physics and predict phase transitions. Additionally, a Quantitative Research Intern at Quantlab Group in mid-2017, Mi improved trading prediction accuracy through machine learning algorithms in high-frequency trading. Mi holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Virginia Tech in Ultracold Atomic Physics and Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics.
