Steven Griffiths is a Research Scientist in R&D Materials specializing in Power & RF at Wolfspeed since May 2017, focusing on Silicon Carbide (SiC) crystal growth. Previously, Griffiths was a Ph.D. Candidate at UC Santa Barbara from June 2012 to May 2017, concentrating on electronic and photonic materials, specifically the growth of bulk gallium nitride (GaN) crystals in Professor Shuji Nakamura's research group. Griffiths holds a Ph.D. in Materials from UC Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan.
