Chief, Infection Prevention And Control at Womack Army Medical Center

John Maynard, RN, MSN-PH, CIC has a diverse work experience in the healthcare field. John is currently serving as the Chief of Infection Prevention and Control at Womack Army Medical Center since June 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Associate Faculty at the University of Phoenix from February 2018. Before joining the University, they held the position of Infection Control Consultant at Evans Army Community Hospital from November 2014 to June 2022. John also worked as an Infection Preventionist with the Certified Infection Control (CIC) designation at the same hospital from November 2011 to November 2014. Earlier in their career, from November 2008 to November 2011, they worked as a Pediatric Nurse at Evans Army Community Hospital - AMEDD.

John Maynard, RN, MSN-PH, CIC obtained a Master's Degree in Nursing with a focus in Public Health from Grand Canyon University between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with a specialization in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from the University of Phoenix from 2010 to 2014. In 1991 and 1992, they attended Pueblo Community College and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. John is currently pursuing a degree in Theology with a focus on the Chaplaincy Program at Christian Leaders Institute. Additionally, they hold a certification in Infection Control and Prevention from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc.
