Carol Moen

President & CEO at Women Building Futures

Carol Moen, P. Eng. has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Carol currently serves as the President & CEO of Women Building Futures, a not-for-profit organization that empowers women through economic prosperity. In this role, Carol leads the organization's efforts to prepare women for jobs in the construction and driving industries, while also fostering partnerships with industry stakeholders.

Prior to their current position, Carol worked as a Senior Consultant for two years, providing independent consulting services. Carol also served as the Registrar for The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) from 2013 to 2017. In this role, they oversaw the implementation and governance of The Engineering and Geosciences Profession (EGP) Act, as well as managed various work processes, staff, and statutory boards.

Earlier in their career, Carol held multiple leadership roles at Dow Chemical. This includes serving as the Associate Director of Responsible Care and Regulatory Affairs, where they were responsible for managing internal and external requirements and environment, health, and safety systems. Carol also led Dow's global brine mining technologies as the Global Technology Leader for the Chlor Alkali Business, ensuring a cost-effective and reliable supply of brine across all Dow sites. Additionally, Carol held leadership positions in power generation, operations improvement, and commissioning coordination.

Carol began their career at Dow Chemical as an Engineer and later worked as a Production Supervisor. Throughout their work experience, they have demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to excellence.

Carol Moen, P. Eng. obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Co-op) from the University of Alberta between 1982 and 1987.
