Kara LaFleur is a skilled professional with extensive experience in mental health and social services. Currently serving as a Clinical Therapist at Women In Transition since August 2021, Kara provides trauma-informed therapy to survivors of domestic violence and intimate partner violence, facilitating psychoeducation, crisis intervention, and client advocacy. Previously, Kara worked as a Domestic Violence LifeLine Clinical Social Work Intern and has a diverse background in culinary arts, marketing, and community relations, including roles as a Professional Chef at Nerd Street Chef, Independent Consultant at Communication Strategy, and VP of Cheerful Communications at Slash7. Women In Transition
Women In Transition (WIT) empowers women to move forward in their lives, free from domestic violence and substance abuse. WIT provides free and confidential services through telephone counseling, peer support groups, individual empowerment counseling, client advocacy, referrals, community education trainings and WAVE empowerment self-defense classes. In the last year we served over 2,500 women with telephone counseling, individual empowerment counseling, and LifeLine peer support groups.
