Opening the doors of Opportunity

The Women’s Business Enterprise Council East (WBEC East) is a purchasing council for certified women’s business enterprises (WBEs).  The Council provides WBENC women business enterprise certification as well as educational, networking, procurement-related, and informational programs and services that foster growth and business opportunities between WBEs and purchasing entities, including major corporations and government agencies. WBEC East also is the third-party certifier of women-owned businesses for the City of Philadelphia, the State of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Women-Owned Small Business Program.

The Certification and Outreach team at WBEC East manages the certification process for women-owned businesses, ensuring they meet the stringent criteria required for official recognition. Additionally, the team actively engages with the business community to promote certified WBEs, facilitate networking opportunities, and foster relationships with major corporations and government agencies. They also provide educational resources and support to help women-owned businesses grow and succeed.
