Margaret Horwitz Lmsw

Margaret Horwitz, LMSW, is an experienced clinician specializing in trauma-focused therapy for clients involved in the criminal justice system, currently working with the Women's Prison Association since July 2019. Previously, Margaret served as an MSW intern at Steps To End Family Violence, providing trauma-informed counseling to survivors at Rikers Island and in the community, and facilitated support groups for those affected by intimate partner violence. Earlier experience includes a role as a caseworker at SCO Family of Services, where Margaret managed casework for pregnant and parenting youth in foster care, and as a prevention specialist with Youth & Shelter Services, overseeing after-school programs for middle school students. Margaret holds a Master of Social Work from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Gender & Women's Studies and Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
