Heinrich Smythe has extensive work experience in the field of software development and system architecture. Heinrich started their career in 2008 as a Junior Java Developer at EAI South Africa, where they were responsible for operational UI development and the implementation of an order management system. Heinrich also assisted in migrating data and coordinating new releases. In 2010, they were promoted to a Senior Software Engineer role. From 2012 to 2014, they took on the role of Head of Business Development, overseeing the implementation of various projects such as a continuous integration server, code repository upgrade, and a ticketing system. Heinrich also managed the migration of the code repository from Mercurial to Git. Since 2014, they have been working as a System Architect & Senior Development Lead at EAI South Africa, where they interact with stakeholders to determine their needs, ensures consistent and correct requirements, evaluates technology stacks, and leads the implementation of requirements. Heinrich also documents systems as they are implemented and oversees mobile development for Android and iOS. In 2020, they joined Wonderlabz as a Java Software Developer.

Heinrich Smythe has a strong educational background in the field of Informatics. In 1995, they started their education at High School Napier and completed their Matric degree in 1999. Heinrich further pursued their studies at the University of Johannesburg, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Informatics from 2003 to 2007. Heinrich continued their education at the same university and earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) Honors degree in Informatics from 2010 to 2011.

In addition to their academic achievements, Heinrich Smythe has also obtained two certifications from Oracle. In October 2012, they became an Oracle Certified Associate in Java SE 7 Programming, and in October 2013, they completed the Oracle WebLogic Server 12c Essentials certification.
