Michael Lazarus has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Michael started their career as a Technology Specialist at Ixchange, specializing in CRM, development, and telephony. Michael then worked as an ITSM Manager at CSGI, focusing on IT service management.

Following this, Lazarus served as the ICT Manager at Virgin Life Care, where they handled various aspects of IT service delivery and application development. Michael then moved on to the RCS Group, where they held the position of ICT Manager. Here, they provided strategic guidance on service delivery and outsourcing strategies, managed the company's ICT infrastructure, and oversaw application development.

Lazarus later joined DataCash: A MasterCard Company as the Head of Global Software Development & MIS. In this role, they were responsible for leading the entire development, business intelligence, and solutions environment.

Michael Lazarus has a degree in ITIL Infrastructure Manager from Foster-Melliar, which they obtained in 2008. In 2003-2004, they completed a Project Management course at WS & L Training, specializing in Prince2 methodology. Michael also completed high school at High School Pretoria Tuine between 1988 and 1992, where they studied Mathematics, Science, English, Afrikaans, Technical Drawing, and Mechanical Engineering theory.
