Gerry Murphy

Gerry Murphy is an accomplished geotechnical engineer and manager currently serving as Associate Director and Japan Country Manager at Wood Thilsted since October 2022, focusing on expanding the company's presence in the Japanese offshore wind sector. Previously, from September 2017 to October 2022, Gerry led the wind power team at Mott MacDonald’s Tokyo office, driving offshore and onshore wind energy projects across North East Asia. Gerry's extensive experience includes roles as Principal Geotechnical Engineer and Lead Geotechnical Engineer, providing technical advisory for renewable energy projects throughout Asia, and delivering complex geotechnical designs for major infrastructure projects. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from University College Dublin and degrees in Structural and Civil Engineering from Munster Technological University. Gerry's career path began in the family construction business and includes significant contributions to innovative geotechnical solutions across various sectors.
