Richard W. Murray

Richard W. Murray is the current Deputy Director & VP of Science & Engineering at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Richard was previously the Director of the Division of Ocean Sciences at National Science Foundation from January 2015 to June 2018. Prior to that, they were a professor at Boston University from September 1992 to June 2019.

Richard W. Murray earned their Ph.D. in Geology & Geophysics from UC-Berkeley, their BA in Geology from Hamilton College, and their W-71 (1983) in Oceanography from the Sea Education Association.
